We provide take over days that offer the opportunity to engage with Black and African Culture by sharing superb creative artistic experiences that disrupt preconceptions, create community, drive excellence and break barriers. You may wish to start with a whole school assembly followed by 4-9 sessions of our activities. You can mix and match them at no extra cost, we work with you to find a timetable that best suits your learning objectives. We work with all key stages from Early Years to Post Graduate level. We work in halls and classrooms and for drumming just need a semi circle of chairs, other than that we can bring all resources with us to both decorate the space and carry out the activities.

"Absolutely fabulous experience! We were totally immersed in African Adinkra printing, dance and the sound of 61 djembe drums resonated around the school. Thank you Kwame, Lotte and the African Activities team; it surpassed all our expectations. We are excited to be making a permanent display of the Adinkra printed cloths in our school hall all sewn together into a 'patchwork of unity' and are looking forward to welcoming you again next year"

hArt, New Milton/Christchurch

Art therapy can allow a person to tackle difficult subjects such as life-changing events and traumatic experiences. Never has it been important than now to consider the mental health needs of children and adolescents.

Andrew Wright, an Art Psychotherapist currently working with hArt, explains the benefits of Art Therapy for children and adolescents below.

“Children may not be able to verbally articulate their experiences, but art and play can help them make sense of it and be a window on their world to engage with them.  By engaging in interactive sensory experiences, helps children to minimise avoidance of difficult feelings and improves emotional regulation, contributing towards making them whole again.” - Andrew Wright

hArt offers a diverse range of creative therapeutic support packages which can be delivered in schools and privately to support children and adolescents to better manage their mental and emotional health.  These programmes can be delivered as face-to-face sessions or as on-line sessions.
